Ridnaun/South Tyrol – The biathlon world is small, as the saying goes. During a World Cup season, the national teams travel to a wide variety of winter sports regions from week to week. So most of the time you always see the same faces. During this time, close friendships develop and many athletes even find the love of their lives.

Oberhofer ended her biathlon career back in 2018 to take care of her family. Son Paul was ten months old at the time, and daughter Emma was born a short time later. The 37-year-old was one of the world's best in her active days. Her greatest success was probably the bronze medal with the Italian mixed relay team at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. In addition, Oberhofer won two World Championship bronze medals with the team and once in the mass start.
