After the unexpected draw against Bnei Reina and before the Tel Aviv derby next week, Maccabi Tel Aviv begins its journey in the group stage of the Conference League tonight (Thursday at 22:00, Sport3) with a home game against Icelandic side Breidblick. The Yellows make no secret of their ambition to finish among the top two at home and qualify for the knockout stages, so tonight's game is one in which three points must be taken to meet the goal.
Coach Robbie Keane made two changes to the defensive line with Enric Savorit and Rui Revivo returning to the line-up after starting on the bench in the last league game. In midfield, Dan Bitton returned and up front Osher Davide was preferred over Jonathan Cohen, so the acquisition from Standard Liege makes his debut in the 11th. For their opponents, this is their first appearance in the European group stage.
