Eintracht Frankfurt are favourites against Aberdeen FC
On Thursday (21 September) at 18:45 CET, Aberdeen FC from Scotland will be the guests. The Eintracht opponents have made a bad start to the Scottish Premiership with two points from five games. This is not the only reason why Eintracht is the clear favorite in the game. Coach Dino Toppmöller is also aware of this: "It's a tough task, but we're the clear favourites. We want to live up to this status as favourites."
He expects a defensive opponent in a 3-5-2 system. "We have to break the bar." Captain Sebastian Rode is to help with this again. Against Bochum he had to watch sick. Now, however, he is fit again. "He recovered from the illness, took part in team training on Tuesday and full training on Wednesday. I will consult with him again on Thursday. If everything is okay, he will be in the starting line-up," Toppmöller explained the procedure.

Eintracht coach Toppmöller relies on captain Rode
"I'd like to have him on the pitch as captain and leader in the first European home game. He's extremely good for the team, you could see that when he came on against Cologne," said the head coach, convinced of his captain's added value. Eintracht, on the other hand, will have to do without Kristijan Jakic, who is not yet able to take part in team training due to knee problems.
Definitely not in the squad will be full-back Philipp Max and striker Lucas Alario. Both were not nominated for the European competition.
