NFL: Father of two dies after punch in the face
According to various US media reports, this is Dale Mooney, a father of two from New Hampshire. The 53-year-old was hit in the face by a Dolphins fan at Gillette Stadium so badly that he later succumbed to his injuries.
Joey Kilmartin, an alleged eyewitness to the situation, told MassLive: "The Dolphins fan came up to him and clearly punched him in the face. He's knocked out and you can immediately see that he's out of his senses." Mooney got into a physical altercation with opposing fans towards the end of the fourth quarter.

Augenzeige reports: "It was quite hard to watch"
Kilmartin adds that Mooney did not regain consciousness after the beating and that the paramedics resuscitated him before taking him to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. "They started fighting each other for a few minutes. Eventually, another fan came over. He beat him... and the other one just fell over. It was pretty hard to watch." The NFL wants to inspire German school sports.
Local police are currently investigating the death. Mooney's wife, Lisa, is stunned by the unexpected death of her husband. She calls for the immediate clarification of the case. "I want to know what happened. What caused that?" said Lisa Mooney at WCVB. "I just don't understand why people have to go to such extremes. Why can't it just be fun? That's all it's supposed to be – a fun family celebration."

Deceased NFL fan, season ticket holder with the New England Patriots for 30 years
Two NFL games will be played in Frankfurt. Dale Mooney had been a season ticket holder for the New England Patriots for 30 years and was on the road with three friends at the game. They are said to have told Lisa Mooney that they were being ridiculed. Was that the trigger in the end?
For Lisa Mooney, it was certainly not her husband who had started the violent altercation. "It takes a lot to make him angry. He has an angelic patience. I don't know what happened," she says, adding that, to her knowledge, her husband did not suffer from any health problems.
Appeal for donations raises five-figure sum
On the site GoFundMe, an Internet platform for the mediation of donations, an appeal has been launched because of the death of Dale Mooney. "The wonderful husband and father Dale Mooney" is written there in large letters. "Dale Mooney was a loving soul who cared deeply about the people he loved, especially his wife, Lisa, to whom he was married for over 20 years." So far, about 12,500 euros have been donated. (aoe)
