Munich – The German national team's unsuccessful streak has culminated in the dismissal of coach Hansi Flick. But the winning mentality of the players is also questioned after the past failed tournaments. Are there no real guys in the DFB squad? Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel was also asked this question in the DAZN interview.

Lack of leading players at the DFB? Tuchel is walking on "thin ice"

Previously, DFB and BVB advisor Matthias Sammer had criticized that there was a lack of leading players in the national team. The reaction of the Bayern coach is profound. After a short laugh, Tuchel replies: "That's thin ice for me now." For Sammer, it is much easier to say that. Some of the criticized DFB players play under Tuchel at FC Bayern.

"I would say a bit diplomatically: I thought his interview was very correct and also very good," Tuchel added. That's definitely an issue with the national team."

The Bayern coach points out that his club and the national team are closely linked. "We are the dominant, strongest club in Germany. We should also be the heart or core of the national team." With regard to the initial question, he summarizes: "There is already an overlap in the problem."

However, Tuchel does not want to go into detail, as he says with a smug grin. In any case, the fact that he lacks leadership among the German Bayern professionals is clear after these statements at the latest. With Harry Kane, Bayern brought in leadership. After all, the record transfer is captain of the English national team.
