FC Bayern are looking for an heir for Manuel Neuer. A development on the island could now play into the hands of the record champions.
Munich – FC Bayern are starting to look at a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer. The long-time number one continues to work diligently on his comeback, but is now 37 years old and he needs a successor in the near future. An English national goalkeeper could now be considered for this.

Goalkeeper situation at FC Bayern – long-term successor to Manuel Neuer sought
At the age of 37, Bayern legend Manuel Neuer is heading for the end of his career. Although goalkeepers usually have more years in professional football in the tank than outfield players, it is still questionable how much the record champions' number one will be able to recover after a complicated injury.
Already in the summer, they were looking for a competitor for the 2014 world champions in Munich, but then brought in Daniel Peretz, a young keeper who is capable of development. However, he is not a real competitor for the Bayern captain. Although experts such as Lothar Matthäus believe in a return of Neuer to the world class, FC Bayern still have to look for the future.

Bayern's focus is increasingly on England – Ramsdale in sight?
What was already noticeable in the last transfer period is that FC Bayern is looking more and more towards the Premier League. Record transfer Harry Kane came from Tottenham Hotspur. Furthermore, they also courted the services of Kyle Walker from Manchester City. Last but not least, the almost certain newcomer Joao Palhinha would have come from England.
As the Daily Mail reports, the search for the new successor could also go to the island. Aaron Ramsdale of Arsenal is said to have attracted the interest of FC Bayern. In addition to Bayern, Chelsea FC seems to have their eye on the goalkeeper of the English national team. The English newspaper reports a potential transfer fee of £60 million.

Ramsdale impresses at Arsenal FC – but still not number one?
Last season, Ramsdale impressed in goal for the Gunners and was an important part of Mikel Arteta's strong season. Nevertheless, they brought in David Raya, a competitor who was also courted by FC Bayern last summer. Last weekend, the shock for Ramsdale followed.
In the game against Everton, it wasn't him, but Raya who was in the starting line-up. Ramsdale, who had taken Bernd Leno's regular place two years ago, was visibly surprised by this. One reason for the demotion could have been his weak start to the season. He scored four goals from nine shots on goal and was only able to fend off 55 percent of the shots on goal. However, Arsenal coach Arteta also stressed that it would not be a final decision. (jari)
