Maccabi Haifa
After the surprising loss in the Premier League, Maccabi Haifa begins its journey in the group stage of the Europa League with a tough away game at French side Rennes. Coach Masai chose to step up in a three-man formation and bench Lorenzo Simic after his horror performance in the 3:2 win against Maccabi Petah Tikva, with Shaun Goldberg returning to the lineup and Daniel Sundgren also being deployed as a defender. Shaw and Mahmoud Jaber in midfield, while Lior Rafalov, who suffers from back pain, was not included in the squad, and Franzi Piero and Dean David were placed in the squad, with Dolev Haziza and Dia Seba on the bench alongside Ali Mohammed.
Ran awaits Maccabi Haifa still unbeaten this season, but after four consecutive draws that did not go smoothly. Despite coming back from 2-0 down to 2-2 against Lille, many players were criticised and Bruno Geneseo rotated the line-up. Arnaud Kalimuendo and Maarten Terje are absent, Nemanja Matic started despite being injured last game.
