Ligue 1 has a new leader: OGC Nice. Less than a week after its victory at the Parc des Princes against PSG (3-2), Nice went to inflict its first defeat of the season on Monaco (1-0) to provisionally seize the top of the Ligue 1 standings, Friday in the opening of the 6th day.
Nice, still unbeaten like Marseille and Rennes, scored by Jeremie Boga in extra time (90 + 1), while Monaco missed two penalties by Folarin Balogun, stopped by goalkeeper Marcin Bulka (12th, 54th). According to Opta, this is the first time since the 2006-2007 season that a player has missed two shots on goal in a Ligue 1 match. We must even go back to the beginning of this season in August 2006 when Toifilou Maoulida missed two penalties with Auxerre against Bordeaux. Folarin Balogu scored his first goal of the season last week in Lorient (2-2).

For this derby, his coach Adi Hütter had decided to start the former Rémois in place of Wissam Ben Yedder, the captain of the ASM. A choice that will be debated in the coming days. The American international twice misplaced his ball, and Bulka the Nice goalkeeper was able to divert his attempts. Balogun also found the post, just before the break (45th + 4). Replaced in the 67th by Ben Yedder, he looked sad when he left the field. That is understandable.
For their part, the Niçois celebrated their success for a long time with the many supporters who had made the short trip.
