In mid-September, the Civil Guard announced that it had arrested three Real Madrid players, following the filing of a complaint by the victim's 16-year-old mother, for their involvement in the "dissemination of a video with sexual content with a minor". Aged between 21 and 22, they had been arrested at the Madrid training centre.
Released after their interrogation, they were charged, with a fourth player, in this case, told AFP according to a judicial source, adding that the contents of their mobiles had been examined. The identity of these players has not been released by the Civil Guard but Real Madrid had indicated, in a statement last week, that a player of Castilla, its B team, and three players of its C team had been questioned by "the Civil Guard regarding a complaint for the alleged dissemination of a private video on WhatsApp".
After the forced kiss scandal
According to local media, the main suspect, who plays in Real Madrid's C team, filmed a consensual sexual relationship with the girl, without asking for her consent, and then sent the video to the other defendants.
The events took place in the Canary archipelago in mid-June. A second victim, an adult, filed a complaint, according to the Civil Guard, which did not give further details. The case was revealed in mid-September as Spanish football is shaken by the scandal of the forced kiss given by the former president of the Federation, Luis Rubiales, to the Spanish international Jenni Hermoso, after the world title of the women's "Roja".
