A stroke of fate for former cross-country skier and biathlete Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle. The two-time Olympic champion is mourning the loss of her deceased dog.
Fishing in the Allgäu - Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle has achieved a lot in her sporting career. Two Olympic gold medals, one World Championship gold medal in cross-country skiing and numerous other awards paved the way for the career of the now 42-year-old, who retired from active competitive sports in 2014. Now the Allgäu woman suffered a heavy blow of fate privately, as she revealed on her Instagram channel: Her beloved dog Happy recently passed away.

Olympic champion Sachenbacher-Stehle mourns the loss of her dog Happy
Just a few days ago, Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle posted on Instagram: "R.I.P. beloved Happy. In the deepest sorrow. We miss you." In the following days, further contributions followed, in which the memory of the beloved furry nose was always in focus. The former winter sports star also shared videos of the graceful four-legged friend of the Magyar Vizsla breed (Hungarian Short-Haired Pointing Dog) with his followers.
"It's hard to comprehend that you're not supposed to be with us from now on. You have just jumped over the meadows and mountains full of joy, warmed our hearts with your very special way and put a smile on our faces," mourns Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle under a post, but also emphasizes bravely and full of feeling: "So we also have a small consolation. You enjoyed your life until the end, you were happy until the last moment and you didn't have to suffer for a second. You will live on forever in our hearts."

Perhaps only a small consolation, but still certainly beneficial for Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle: Numerous fans mourn with her on Instagram and show empathy. "Happy definitely had a great home with you and the way you experienced him, he was also very happy," commented one user. Another follower explained: "How horrible and unbelievably sad! Have pure goosebumps! Although I don't know them all personally, this news touches me very much! I wish you and your family a lot of strength to cope with the loss as best you can!"

The talented dog won the popular celebrity special of the TV show "Top Dog Germany" twice with his beloved mistress, who has already appeared in various TV shows.
