Manchester City beat Nottingham Forest 0-2 tonight, goals from Phil Foden (7) and Erling Haaland (14), Pep Guardila's men looked good, but an ugly incident at the start of the second half clouded the joy. Rhodri, the azure midfielder, was seen grabbing Gibbs-White with both hands, who fell onto the pitch soon after.

Due to the nature of the offence, Rodri, described last week by manager Pep Guardiola as the "best midfielder in Europe", is expected to receive a three-match ban for "unsportsmanlike behaviour", meaning the midfielder could miss the intriguing encounter against Arsenal in October, as well as games against Wolves in the league and Newcastle in the League Cup.
Manchester City will have to decide next week whether to appeal the penalty, should it be accepted, but it does not appear that they will do so given the clear pictures and the fact that Hoare's referees approved the red, so the chances of an appeal are slim.
