Harry Kane costs FC Bayern more than eleven times as much as Serhou Guirassy costs VfB Stuttgart. Would he have been the better transfer for the Munich striker?
Munich - He is the discovery of this Bundesliga season par excellence. Serhou Guirassy had already delivered properly earlier. The VfB Stuttgart centre-forward has scored eight goals after four matchdays, equalling the 56-year record set by Gladbach icon Peter Meyer in the 1967/68 season.

FC Bayern Munich: Serhou Guirassy better choice than Harry Kane?
No wonder: In the Swabian cauldron, they are full of praise for the 27-year-old Guinea international, who had already secured the traditional club's relegation last season with five goals in the last eight games as well as one goal and one assist in the relegation play-off against Hamburger SV (3-0/3-1).
Record international Lothar Matthäus had therefore advised FC Bayern to sign Guirassy, who has the format and characteristics of a classic nine. A profile that the Munich team was looking for vigorously during tough negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur for Harry Kane (four goals this season). Would Guirassy have been the better choice in terms of value for money, instead of the superstar from England?

VfB Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy: A candidate for FC Bayern Munich?
"I'd get Guirassy!" Matthäus had told Bild. On Instagram, several memes are currently circulating in fan pages that commemorate the statement of the 1990 world champion. For example, the account "fussballkneipe", which has 38,600 followers. In the comments, one user writes: "Lothar Matthäus is far too often underestimated." Another user says with regard to the Guirassy thesis: "His analyses and expertise have been extremely good for a long time, coherent and get to the heart of the matter." But: Another Insta user says: "Nevertheless, Harry Kane will score more consistent goals than a Guirassy." Real?
By way of comparison, VfB signed Guirassy on a permanent basis in July and transferred a manageable nine million euros to French top-flight club Stade Rennes for the 1.87-metre-tall attacker. Tottenham, on the other hand, received a whopping 100 million euros from Munich for Kane – not including bonuses. That's about eleven times as much. Accordingly, the critical observers of the Bundesliga are likely to be looking forward to the goal rates of the two centre-forwards. Because Guirassy would be able to score as many goals at FC Bayern as Kane (30), who is three years older? Or even more? Speculation.

Serhou Guirassy: How many Bundesliga goals are possible for the VfB Stuttgart centre-forward?
"He showed his class last season – in a role that not many attackers can fill these days: he's a classic centre-forward with all the qualities that go with it. He's big, he's always present, he's constantly causing trouble in the opposing defence and he also plays strongly with his back to goal," ex-Germany international Kevin Kuranyi told Stuttgarter Nachrichten about his successor in the VfB attack. "The fact that he has an excellent nose for goals can currently be seen in the Bundesliga's top scorers' list. All in all, it can be said that the Frenchman is a type of striker that Germany is currently lacking," the Swabian continued.
Cacau, another ex-VfB international, expects the top clubs to battle it out for the goalscorer soon. "If he continues to play and score like this, other clubs will logically pay even more attention to him, so I say: VfB should enjoy the time with him and make the best of it," he told the same newspaper: "I trust him to score 20 goals this season if he stays healthy – that would be outstanding." Perhaps one or the other boss on Säbener Straße in Munich will be reminded of Lothar Matthäus' tip. (pm)
