After the dramatic 109:112 victory over Red Star Belgrade, Maccabi Tel Aviv continues its journey tonight (Saturday) in the preparatory tournament in Nicosia, Cyprus, this time meeting Olympiacos. This is the last test of tools before the first official game of the season, the Winner's Cup quarterfinal match against Ironi Kiryat Ata on Tuesday.
Last night, the Yellows were dragged to two overtimes before defeating their Serbian rivals, with Bonzi Coulson finishing as the leading scorer with 18 points, but the deciding factor in the volatile game was the Israeli duo of Roman Sorkin (17 points) and Tamir Blatt (14 and 6 assists) who stood out in the second overtime.
Olympiacos added Luke Sikma, Nikola Milyutinov and Nigel Williams Goss over the summer, as well as Kendrick Nunn, who officially signed last night but has not yet dressed.
