It's been months since Shakira's breakup with former Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique, and while the former player has moved on to a new path and is in a relationship with a young woman, the Colombian says she is still broken. In an interview, Shakira said she believed in "until death does us part" and will live with Piquet forever.

The Colombian star, 46, said it used to be her "dream" to have a lifelong relationship with the father of her two children. She says that since the breakup and the breakdown of the relationship, she is still "fighting her demons."

The couple broke up last summer when Piquet abandoned her for Clara Chia Marti, 23. Since Shakira seemed more recovered, she has continued with her life, releasing new songs in which she even stung Pika, but she makes no secret of her feeling that the breakup made her feel like she was "thrown into a trash surrounded by rats."

In a heartbreaking revelation, the star also admitted to her struggles as a single mother. The singer said she was in a "reflective period" and constant coping: "I went through several stages: denial, anger, pain, frustration, anger again, pain again. Now I'm in survival phase," she explained.

"My priority was my home, my family. I believed in 'until death will separate us.' I believed in this dream, and I had this dream for myself, for my children. That's what I wanted for myself and my children, but it didn't happen."
