Matthijs de Ligt had to be substituted at half-time against Bochum. The defender is out with a knee injury and probably missed FC Bayern's visit to the Oktoberfest.
Munich – FC Bayern got in the mood for their visit to the Oktoberfest on Saturday with a 7-0 thrashing of VfL Bochum. The mood of all participants was correspondingly magnificent. Matthijs de Ligt, on the other hand, had a bitter evening despite scoring a goal of his own. The defender was in the FCB starting line-up for the first time this Bundesliga season, but had to be substituted at half-time due to injury. That's probably why the Dutchman missed the trip to the Oktoberfest.

Matthijs de Ligt substituted injured in starting XI comeback
De Ligt was fouled in his own penalty area by Bochum's Anthony Losilla in the first half when he was able to clear up a situation. Subsequently, however, the 24-year-old went to the ground in pain and immediately held his knee.
The defender gritted his teeth and continued to play until the end of the first half. But then it didn't work anymore. At half-time, de Ligt was substituted for Dayot Upamecano. Coach Thomas Tuchel explained the injury at the press conference after the game.

Bayern's de Ligt is out of the DFB-Pokal against Preußen Münster with a knee injury
"I don't know yet, he's in the tube, doing an MRI. He got a blow to the knee and is being examined," Tuchel said of de Ligt. On Sunday, FC Bayern's medical department gave the all-clear.
According to the statement, de Ligt would only have to take a break for a few days after a blow to the knee. So the central defender will definitely miss Tuesday's DFB-Pokal match. The Bavarians did not provide more concrete information about the nature of the injury.
Setback for de Ligt in duel with Upamecano
Bitter for de Ligt: The Dutchman, who was hired as the new defensive boss a year ago, was allowed to play from the start in the Bundesliga for the first time this season. He was only in the starting line-up in the Supercup against Leipzig. Tuchel has so far preferred the duo of Minjae Kim and Dayot Upamecano.
De Ligt actually wanted to use the opportunity against Bochum to advertise his own cause. In the 29th minute, he scored a magnificent header. The injury with the associated substitution and downtime now means the next setback on the way back to the starting line-up.

The blow to the knee probably had other consequences. De Ligt and his girlfriend Annekee Molenaar were not initially spotted during FC Bayern's visit to the Oktoberfest. Apparently, the convalescent had to take it easy. De Ligt should not have been in a celebratory mood anyway due to the painful injury. (ck)
