FC Bayern Munich had to play at Preußen Münster in the DFB Cup catch-up date. The scheduling did not suit some fans.
Münster – What was going on? After about half an hour, the first-round match in the DFB Cup between Preußen Münster and FC Bayern Munich had to be interrupted. The reason was countless tennis balls that the fans had suddenly thrown onto the lawn.
The explanation for the curious action was also quickly found: The Bayern fans did not like the scheduling of the first round of the cup, or the scheduling of the Supercup.
Actually, the first round had already taken place several weeks ago, but Bayern played against RB Leipzig in the Supercup on that second weekend in August. Accordingly, the Munich on Tuesday, September 26, and the Saxons on Wednesday, September 27, still have to detain.
Immediately after the tennis balls, the Bayern fans chanted "Sh*** DFB", at the same time they had rolled out a banner with the inscription "No to the Supercup on the cup weekend!". Sky commentator Wolff Fuss added: "We have received the hint: The action of the fans is directed against the taking place of the Super Cup on the first cup matchday."
