A change is on the horizon in Formula 1. Akpha Tauri's team could start with a new name in the 2024 season.

Herzogenaurach – Max Verstappen is the measure of all things in Formula 1. The Dutchman dominates the racing series at will and can celebrate the world championship title at the next Grand Prix. The competition is completely inferior and must now already plan the coming season to reduce the gap to Verstappen and the Red Bull team.

Formula 1 team about to change its name

A big change for the 2024 season is apparently imminent for the Alpha Tauri Formula 1 team. The sporting goods company Adidas is said to be the new title sponsor. Red Bull's sister racing team had recently been repeatedly associated with the fashion group Hugo Boss.

However, the Swiss tabloid Blick now reports that Adidas is said to have won the race. "As a matter of principle, we do not participate in speculation," a spokesman for Adidas told the German Press Agency on request. An official confirmation from the Herzogenaurach-based company is therefore still a long time coming.

The new Adidas boss Björn Gulden had strengthened the rival's involvement in Formula 1 during his time as CEO of the sporting goods manufacturer Puma. Now the same could happen with Adidas. Red Bull has long since confirmed that there will be a name change at Alpha Tauri in 2024.

Is Adidas entering Formula 1 as a namesake?

Since 2020, Red Bull's sister team has only been called Alpha Tauri. The aim of the renaming was for the fashion brand to be promoted by Red Bull. However, those responsible were not convinced by the effect and are now ending the experiment. Before the name change to Alpha Tauri, the team was still called Toro Rosso (Italian for "Red Bull").

From the very beginning, the team served to enable young drivers to make the leap into Formula 1 and to promote them so that they could switch to the Red Bull team at some point. Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly all began their careers at the then Toro Rosso racing team. A new name has not yet been determined, but the two regular cockpits for 2024 have already been assigned. Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo will continue to drive the cars next season. (smr
