Manuel Neuer could soon make his comeback. The return to team training at FC Bayern Munich is imminent.
Munich – FC Bayern Munich's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is still in training after his skiing accident. The keeper played his last Bundesliga game before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November 2022. In December, he broke his lower leg while doing winter sports. After the long absence, FCB officials are now optimistic that a new comeback could soon be imminent.

New comeback is imminent: Bayern bosses explain current status
At third-division club Preußen Münster, FC Bayern did not show any nakedness. The German record champions defeated the underdog in the DFB-Pokal 4-0. FCB sporting director Christoph Freund commented on Manuel Neuer's current situation on ZDF ahead of the game: "It's not far off. It can only be a matter of days." The Austrian expects Neuer "next week with the team."
Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel also gave a water level report on the injured goalkeeper. Neuer is currently training individually and is already in goalkeeper training. According to the coach, the keeper feels "very good."

Neuer will be represented at FC Bayern by Ulreich and Peretz
Manuel Neuer's absence from FC Bayern is taking longer than feared. Tuchel explains the complications of the national goalkeeper. Neuer has "complaints in the calf that are very diffuse and sometimes come and sometimes go." These have "not so much to do with jump technique or muscle contraction, but are simply there and disturb." So patience is still required, because Tuchel and Bayern "don't want to take any risks that it will turn into an injury."
Nevertheless, Manuel Neuer could now quickly return to the pitch after the long wait. According to Tuchel, the 37-year-old believes "that it will happen very, very quickly as soon as he is in team training" and then also get "what he needs for the competition." Until then, Sven Ulreich will continue to represent the former world goalkeeper. Against Münster, new signing Daniel Peretz made his debut in the Munich box. (jsk)
