Recap: Napoli vs Udinese 1:4/Sport1
Italian journalist Marika Fruccio was forced to apologize and "beg" Nigerian football fans to leave her alone, after criticising Napoli striker Victor Osimhen on social media.
It all started when the Nigerian striker deleted Napoli-related posts from his Instagram account, following a TikTok video (which has already been deleted) shared by the club in which the team allegedly mocked Osimhen for missing a penalty. Osimhen's agent even threatened to sue Naples.

In response to Osimhen's actions, she wrote: "You are a champion, but it takes humility. What's the point of deleting photos of the club that worshipped and supported you? What's the point of flirting like that?? File a lawsuit over a sarcastic video? An intelligent person would laugh at that. Be the pro. Put your head down and work. In any case, it's our fault that we make these actors almost violent. Just the shirt, just the shirt."
Shortly after her publication, her social media page was flooded with comments from Nigerian fans who slammed the "journalist" for her statement. Nigeria's social networks declared a real war on it and began storming it, reportedly making "sexual" threats, among other things.
In response, she was forced to take the unusual step of shutting down her Instagram page (where she has nearly a million followers) for comments, making it private after a long list of harassment and hateful comments.
She then made another post on Instagram apologizing and saying she didn't mean to offend Nigeria. "Dear loved people from Nigeria, I am a show girl who also works on a football-related TV show. In my comment and post, I referred to Nigerian football player Victor Osimhen. I didn't want to offend, but that was my only point of view and should have been understood as a personal suggestion. I love Africa, and I have always appreciated their talents and beautiful values in terms of the friendship and positivity they have. These are days so full of bad news, so let's spread love and peace. A hug to you all."

The affair between Osimhen and Napoli has already ended, after the club formally apologized to him, and yesterday the club's social media director resigned from his position. Since the tension, Osimhen has already managed to start in the lineup, score and express commitment. Froshio's Instagram page is still closed.
