After the 2-3 defeat in the match against Turkey, the DFB team will finally be looking to win again against Austria in order to calm the heated tempers a bit. Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has not yet revealed the line-up for the friendly international, but he has sent a clear message to his players.

DFB line-up against Austria: Nagelsmann counters Havertz criticism
DFB coach Nagelsmann made one thing clear after the defeat in Berlin's Olympic Stadium: "No one is seeded and everyone is invited to give their best," Nagelsmann repeated a guiding principle. His message: No one should let up now. At the press conference on Monday, the 36-year-old did not reveal much information to the public, but Nagelsmann did reveal a few hints about the personnel situation against Austria.
Details of the changed role of Arsenal player Kai Havertz, who played in the unfamiliar left-back position against Turkey, leaked out. "It's also possible that we see a different player there," said the national coach about the position mentioned. Clear criticism of Havertz was voiced after the duel against the Turks, which the DFB coach countered at the press conference - Havertz had not lost a duel or a header duel. Reason enough to use him again in the prestige duel against the Austrian team. "But if he's fit, he's also an option for tomorrow," said Nagelsmann ahead of the game.

DFB coach Nagelsmann ahead of match against Austria: "Definitely no other order"
With regard to the system of play, Nagelsmann reiterated that he would "definitely not let any other order play". This means that the German national team will probably play with a back four – Mats Hummels could replace Jonathan Tah in the backline. In place of the ill goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, SGE goalkeeper Kevin Trapp will probably continue to be used. As alternatives, the newcomers Oliver Baumann and Janis Blaswich are available.
Ex-FCB coach Nagelsmann gave no hint about Joshua Kimmich. Whether he will play alongside captain Ilkay Gündogan again on the double six is still questionable. RTL pundit Lothar Matthäus spoke out clearly against it after the bitter defeat, because Gündogan and Kimmich "don't fit together on the double six because they are too similar," said the record international player, adding: "They don't do well when they play together." But what could the possible line-up look like in the end?
