Samu Castillejo has been commuting between Italy and Spain for several years. In both countries, the professional footballer has already been the victim of a robbery.

Milan – Samu Castillejo played for AC Milan for four years before moving back to Spain. He is now back on loan in Italy, although one of the most horrific moments of his life took place there. The 28-year-old was robbed in Milan and threatened with a gun. But this was not the only time he was attacked.

Born:January 18, 1995 (age 28), Malaga, Spain

Castillejo is ambushed on the way to the supermarket and threatened with a gun

Speaking to Spain's Relevo, Castillejo spoke for the first time about the incidents that really affected him. "I was on my way to the supermarket and when I was about to get out of the car, two guys on a motorcycle got off and held a gun to my head," the Spaniard described an everyday process that became a horror day due to the attack.

Since the 28-year-old had no cash with him at the time, the robbers stole an "expensive, expensive" watch from him. "They asked me about my watch and if I had any money, and I didn't have any money. They took the watch," Castillejo recalls. Since the Italian police had done a good job, the two perpetrators were arrested the next day and the striker got his watch back.

Castillejo is the victim of a second robbery

"In the beginning, you don't even have time to get nervous," Castillejo says. He also admitted that it hadn't been easy for him to process the scene. However, just a few years later, shortly after he returned to Spain, his house was broken into during his debut for Valencia FC.

This time, the thieves took "material, personal and sentimental" things. "They break into your house. They violate your privacy and that of your family," a dismayed Castillejo said of the incident. This time, the robbery ended without a happy ending, as the attackers could not be caught despite some clues.

Professionals in Spain are attacked again and again – dramatic scenes in the Kluivert house

Castillejo complained that there would not be enough protection, as there had already been numerous raids on the homes of professional footballers in Spain. Former national player Shkodran Mustafi, Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema and Gerard Piqué, among others, were victims of similar attacks. The slump was particularly dramatic for Justin Kluivert, who also played for Valencia.

The Dutchman was robbed of cash and jewelry worth 150,000 euros. Earlier, his girlfriend and her mother were violently attacked and beaten by the attackers. "They will keep stealing until either the laws are tightened or there are people who really want to catch them," Castillejo said. (jari)
