At the beginning of the week, FC Bayern had hoped for good news. But coach Thomas Tuchel will apparently not be able to rely on a returnee anytime soon.
Update from November 28, 18:10 p.m.: Good news for FC Bayern and Thomas Tuchel! Although Matthijs de Ligt completed his first running session on Monday morning after his medial ligament injury in his knee, there is no hope of a return anytime soon.
On Tuesday, Tuchel was asked if de Ligt could still be an option for this year. "My feeling is no," said the Bayern coach succinctly. So the record champions will only have to play the remaining games until Christmas with Dayot Upameanco and Minjae Kim.
Kim is likely to get a rest for Wednesday night's Champions League match against FC Copenhagen, as he missed the final training session on Tuesday afternoon. He is likely to be replaced by midfielder Leon Goretzka, who has played this position more often this season.

Good news for Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel
First reported on 27 November:
Munich – Anyone who voluntarily walked in front of your door in Munich on Monday morning almost had to be praised.
In icy sub-zero temperatures, getting up was not much fun. But on Säbener Strasse you could see an almost happy person in the morning. There was a good reason for that.
Matthijs de Ligt returns to training after injury – Bayern star completes individual session
Matthijs de Ligt completed his first individual session at FC Bayern's training ground since his knee injury. The build-up and coordination runs were fun even in the low temperatures.

Good news for Thomas Tuchel! Apparently, the Dutchman will be able to return this year after all. After de Ligt suffered a medial ligament injury in his left knee in the embarrassing cup exit at 1. FC Saarbrücken (1-2) a good four weeks ago, the defensive star could provide some relief from his coach's personnel concerns.

Good news for Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel: Matthijs de Ligt back on track
With Dayot Upamecano and Minjae Kim, the record champions currently have only two fit centre-backs at their disposal. The South Korean Kim in particular has been at the upper limit for weeks, playing over 90 minutes every game.
The 27-year-old only returned from the international break in China on Thursday – and was back in the starting line-up for the 1-0 win at 1.
Especially in view of the coming year, it is important that de Ligt is fit again. Kim will be at the Asian Championships with South Korea from January and could miss FC Bayern until February.
Kim gone, de Ligt still injured: FC Bayern are looking for reinforcements in defence
That's why Christoph Freund had already announced transfers during the winter break. "We're nominally not that big at the back," said the Bayern sporting director: "There's still the Africa Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup, so there's a lot to do in the next few weeks."
So Bayern want to step up their game on the transfer market and are looking for a central defender. However, the market is currently offering little. It is therefore all the more pleasing that de Ligt took his first steps towards a comeback on Monday morning. However, it is not yet clear when exactly the defensive star will be available to coach Tuchel again.
Return of de Ligt? Take a deep breath during the cup week at FC Bayern
On Wednesday evening (29 November), the penultimate group game in the Champions League is against FC Copenhagen. On Saturday (2 December), Union Berlin will be guests at the Allianz Arena, before the Munich team do not have to play a game during the week because the cup round of <> will take place there. The Bayern stars can catch their breath a little.
Perhaps the only positive aspect of the cup elimination ... (smk)
