Since the massacre by Hamas in the communities near the Gaza Strip on October 7, which led to the outbreak of the "Iron Swords" war, Hapoel captain Hadera Menashe Zalka has been on combat reserve duty. The 33-year-old midfielder, who served in the Paratroopers Raven during his regular service and still serves in the unit's reserve unit, is in the northern region with his friends and unlike the other Premier League players who returned to play, Zelka remains to serve the country.
On Monday, Zelka posted a particularly controversial story on Instagram. In the story, which apparently shows Gazans leaving their homes, the actor wrote: "You'll miss the Nakba of yesteryear, come on brrrrrr."

Two weeks ago, in an interview with Israel Hayom, Zalka was asked about how he thought the war should end, and replied: "I don't want to get into advice and tell people bigger than me what to do. I am the property of the IDF and do my duty. I do think that the Nazis should be dismantled from Hamas and the war should be won, and that there should be no doubts about whether or not we won, but that we defeated them."
