Even in his rosiest dreams, Joao Felix did not expect that the night Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid would be inscribed in his name. But yesterday (Sunday), when Barcelona beat the Colchoneros 0-1, it happened. Felix impressed and even scored the winning goal with complete disregard for the opposing coach, Diego Simeone and, contrary to the norm in recent years, celebrated his goal against his ex, from whom he is on loan. "It seemed that Felix came with the utmost motivation to prove something to someone," one Spanish newspaper wrote this morning. The player himself has already sent a message: "I am very happy at Barcelona, expect them to make an effort to acquire me."
Felix has been considered one of the biggest talents in world football for several years, but in recent years he has become a flop mainly due to the fact that he was acquired in 2019 for an unprecedented sum of 126 million euros by Atletico Madrid. Simeone and the Spanish club's chiefs thought Benfica's Lisbon talent would be the next thing in their team, but Felix struggled to show off his skills. And last season it even seemed that the club's chiefs stopped believing in him and he was loaned out to Chelsea.

But Felix did not find his place in England either, and this summer he faced a career crossroads. On the one hand, there were several offers for big money from Saudi Arabia, but on the other hand, Felix still felt that he did not want to end his European career. In the end, he chose to give up the Saudi money and chose to make a "last attempt" in Europe, this time playing for Barcelona. According to many reports, Felix's salary at the Catalan club is €400,4 per season due to fair-play rules, but there are reports that this is an unreasonable sum and his salary reaches around €<> million.
In any case, it seems that Barcelona are indeed able to rehabilitate the Portuguese star's career and will even want to acquire him at the end of the season. Atletico recently made it clear that they would agree to sell him for €70 million to try and save their big investment. Barcelona said they would agree to buy him for a much lower sum, probably only €25 million.
