Oskar Gluch is in fantastic shape, and Austria is already in love. The midfielder scored the winning goal on Sunday to give Red Bull Salzburg a 0-1 victory over Wolfsberger, continuing the trend from recent weeks. Gluch has scored a second consecutive game, and since the start of the season has four goals and three assists in the league, along with two goals in the Champions League.
"Gluch is the best player in the Austrian league today, and by far," praised Andy Herzog, former coach of the Israeli national team and now a commentator for Austrian television. "He is a wonderful player with great technique and has perfectly embraced the philosophy of the club. He already seems to be on his way to great things."
According to Herzog, "The only thing that bothers me a bit about him is that he just celebrated his 20th birthday. If he was already 25, I would have taken him to play for me. I just know that as you step up and play at higher levels, it gets harder and tougher. You must be at the top in all parameters. His ability to adapt to Salzburg's demands so quickly gives me confidence that he will be able to excel even at the highest levels."

Salzburg coach Gerhard Struber was also impressed by Gloch's abilities: "Oscar fits our style very well. He is active with the ball and knows how to score or cook at important moments. He gives us stability, because you know that at any given moment he can make a move that will amaze you a little..."
On the Kronen Zeitung website, Gluch received a grade of 5, the highest among Salzburg's players. "Gluch was the only bright spot in the game," the headline read. "The team's best player by far, and not only because of the goal he scored, but because of his supreme technique."
