Luton FC vs Arsenal 4:3 - All goals/Sport1
Hanukkah is celebrated at this time in Israel and around the world among Jewish communities, with the eve of the first candle. Many sports teams around the world greet fans according to their holidays, and it was also the turn of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur with Hanukkah, and in the best tradition the clubs wished the Happy holiday with a picture of a menorah.
"Of all the teams in the UK, I would assume Tottenham have at least one Jew on the social media team," wrote Daniel Sugarman, director of public affairs at the Council of Deputies of British Jews. Sugarman referred to a picture they posted at Tottenham with the greeting "Happy Hanukkah from everyone at Tottenham", when 5 Stars of David and a menorah can be seen, only with 10 reeds and a sun. The roosters quickly got on top of it and changed the pictures on social media to ones with a standard 8-branched menorah and sun.
Tottenham are not alone in poking around the net, with city rivals and Premier League table leaders Arsenal also wishing their fans Happy holiday with an even smaller 6-barrel menorah and sun. The clubs apologized and later said: "This is a human error that has been corrected."
