An interesting report comes Thursday evening from the Eurohops website, which claims that the Georgian national team approached Aleksandar Dzikic and Hapoel Jerusalem and was immediately interested in the Serbian coach. Unfortunately for the Georgians, the Jerusalem administration was unwilling to hear about Dzikic's release, despite the difficult days Israel is going through.
Last season, his first in the capital, the Serbian swept his players to the Champions League final, the semi-finals of the play-offs in the Winner Basket League and the cup final after beating arch-rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv in the final. He had previously coached a national team while guiding North Macedonia between 2014 and 2015, but left to focus on coaching a club and subsequently signed for Partizan Belgrade.
Dzikic is currently in Belgrade together with the foreign players of Jerusalem who remained in the Serbian capital and did not come with the Israeli players and professional staff for the two games in the Israeli league against Ironi Ramat Gan and Hapoel Afula.
