Launched in lane 2 of this final and for a long time confined to fourth place, Philippe Lucas' pupil achieved a superb last 50m freestyle to win this new medal. Only Great Britain's Abbie Wood managed to beat her.
Grousset wins bronze in the 50m butterfly
A few minutes before her, it was the youngest of the France team who had distinguished herself. At just 18 years old, Mary-Ambre Moluh took the bronze medal in the 100m backstroke with a time of 57.10 seconds, in a race dominated by Kira Toussaint of the Netherlands (55.88) and Medi Harris of Great Britain (56.81). A multi-time international medallist in the youth categories, she earned her first podium in the senior category here.
