How long will Florian Wirtz stay at Bayer Leverkusen? The super talent is probably leaning towards a move to FC Bayern, but not in the summer.
Munich – 16 goal involvements in 19 games, plus an outstanding season with Bayer Leverkusen, including leading the Bundesliga table after 13 matchdays. Florian Witz is arguably the hottest player in German football at the moment.
Wirtz is probably leaning towards a move to FC Bayern
It's only logical that there is already speculation about the 20-year-old's future – even though Wirtz is still under contract with the Werkself until 2027.
FC Bayern, in particular, are repeatedly linked with the youngster. Just like the international heavyweights around Real Madrid or Manchester United. Nevertheless, the Wirtz side is said to prefer a transfer to the German industry leader. At least that's what transfer insider Florian Plettenberg reports.

Wirtz's father probably rules out a move next summer
However, a move to Säbener Straße would probably not take place until 2025 at the earliest. "At the moment, everything is geared towards Florian playing in Leverkusen next season," his father Hans-Joachim Wirtz, who represents his son and is leading the contract talks, told Sky.
A few days earlier, Wirtz's father told Bild: "Something is building very well in Leverkusen at the moment – Florian is a building block of it. And it makes sense for this building block to remain in place for a little longer."

Wirtz wants to make future decision independent of Alonso
In addition, the youngster still has big goals this season: "Florian wants to become German champion with Leverkusen in 2024 and then European champion with the national team. At the moment, I don't see that changing at the end of the season."
Wirtz himself had last said in November that he would make his stay independent of coach Xabi Alonso, who is repeatedly linked with Real Madrid. "I'd like him to stay at Leverkusen for a long time. But in the end, everyone has to go their own way and at some point I have to decide where I want to play. The fact is: I'm very happy at the club right now," he told the editorial network Germany.
By 2025 at the latest, however, Wirtz will probably decide that he will "preferably" take the next step. Maybe he'll even take a teammate with him to Munich. (kk)
