  • Who will face whom in the DFB Cup quarter-finals?

Dortmund – The 2023/24 DFB-Pokal season is full of surprises. Numerous favourites had to retire in the first three rounds. In addition to defending champions RB Leipzig, FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have also been hit. There are only three Bundesliga clubs left in the quarter-finals: Bayer Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

DFB-Pokal draw: Who will 1. FC Saarbrücken face?

The biggest surprise in the current round of the DFB Cup is 1. In the 3rd league, the Saarlanders are only average, but they surpass themselves when it comes to seemingly overpowering opponents. Karlsruher SC was beaten in the 1st main round, after which it was the end of the line for the Bundesliga clubs FC Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt.

In the quarter-finals, Saarbrücken will have a home game again and probably none of the clubs remaining in the competition are very keen on an away game at Ludwigspark. Two more wins, then the final in Berlin is on the agenda. For 1. FC Saarbrücken, this would certainly be one of the highlights of the club's history.

The goal of the eight remaining teams is the final in Berlin's Olympic Stadium, which will take place on May 25, 2024. Since Hertha BSC is still in the quarter-finals, there could be a home game for the capital club. By the way, all DFB Cup winners of the last 26 years have already been eliminated. This season, a club that last achieved this before the turn of the millennium will win the cup. (smr
