FC Bayern Munich's 1-5 thrashing in Frankfurt also made headlines in the international press. We summarize the reactions.
Frankfurt – FC Bayern Munich went down without a hitch at Eintracht Frankfurt. Coach Thomas Tuchel's team suffered a bitter 1-5 defeat, making their first defeat of the Bundesliga season a debacle. It is not the first time that the record champions have fallen apart on the Main. On 2 November 2019, the score was also 1-5 from the Reds' point of view – it was to be the last game for then coach Niko Kovac.
In the defeat four years ago, Bayern had been outnumbered for a long time after an early red card against Jerome Boateng. This time, there were other reasons for the embarrassment – especially in defence, the Munich team was surprisingly vulnerable, so the back four was hailed with sixes in the tz individual criticism.

Tuchel tried to explain himself after the game, but did not exempt himself from blame. Serge Gnabry's role also proved how needed Bayern's afternoon was: the Germany international came on as a substitute, was injured immediately and was substituted again three minutes later.
