The day after Paris Saint-Germain's victory against Nantes (2-1), Nice kept pace with the leaders. In an even match against Reims, the Aiglons won (2-1), thanks to a slightly lucky goal from Jérémie Boga at the end of the game. A new win that allows them to regain their second place in Ligue 1 once occupied by Monaco, after Saturday's victory at Rennes (0-1).

Reims will have regrets

In view of their first half, Reims will have some regrets. Against the best defence in the league, Will Still's men did not really dominate but created the two clearest chances. Yunis Abdelhamid missed his volley from close range (33′), just before Mohammed Daramy, who went for goal, pushed the ball too far (35′).

However, the situation changed very quickly after the break. More enterprising, Nice found the breakthrough thanks to Gaëtan Laborde, who had been discreet until then, with a powerful left-footed shot (55′). Forced to react, the visitors then unleashed the match, as evidenced by Junya Ito's attempt from the edge of the area, which smashed Marcin Bulka's crossbar (67').

Diouf's costly mistake

The Champagne side even managed to get back on track, thanks to their captain Abdelhamid, who rose very high to take a cross from Ito with a powerful helmet kick (78', 1-1). But their joy was short-lived: on a seemingly harmless shot from Boga, Yehvann Diouf completely missed his low save and let the ball die in his net (2-1, 82'). Back in front, Nice then hung on to the score until the end, spurred on by their fans.

It's TER-MI-BORN!

In the standings, OGCN (32 points) remain four points behind PSG, still solidly at the top of the league, but two points ahead of Monaco and six points ahead of Lille, currently 4th, ahead of Losc's trip to Clermont. Another victory in Le Havre, next Saturday, could therefore ensure that he will be on the podium at the halfway point of the season. With 23 points, Reims remain in the race for Europe.
