For the first time since the 1-6 win over Bournemouth on November 4, Pep Guardiola's men will pick up three points after a turnaround against little Luton • Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish made it 1-2

Manchester City equalled a run of no Premier League wins under Pep Guardiola in the middle of last week. The 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa came after three draws against Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham, putting the number of games they did not win at four – an eternity in terms of the English champions, which lasted 36 days.

On Sunday, that streak finally came to an end, but despite the great joy in the group, it doesn't have too much to celebrate. The 1-2 away draw against little Luton was achieved with great difficulty after a turnaround, with only the abysmal differences in quality between the players of the two teams preventing the Citizens from an embarrassing result. The absence of the injured Erling Haaland is certainly not a sufficient excuse.

To Luton's credit, other big teams also struggled on their small field. Arsenal won 3-4 only thanks to a 97th-minute goal and table-toppers Liverpool rescued a point in extra time. When Adebayo took the lead on the brink of half-time, Guardiola had plenty of reasons to panic, until Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish turned the game around in the second half. City are still in crisis, but their gap to first place is just 4 points, and the fight for the title is open.

In other matches, Everton continued their escape from the red line (after being deducted 10 points) by beating unstable Chelsea 0-2 at Goodison Park. Fulham continue to excite, beating West Ham 0-5 for the second time in four days in four days.
