FC Bayern is probably flexing its financial muscles in the fight for Ronald Araújo. FCB coach Tuchel skilfully plays down questions about interest.
Munich – Back in the summer, FC Bayern Munich dug deep into their pockets to sign Harry Kane. A process that the club cannot repeat indefinitely, despite the much-cited thickly filled fixed-term deposit account. According to reports, they are willing to put a lot of money on the table again for Ronald Araújo from FC Barcelona.
However, it is questionable whether both those responsible in Barcelona and Araújo himself can be convinced. Both parties are said to be less interested in a deal with FC Bayern, even if a phone call has probably already taken place.

Tuchel and Bayern continue to stubbornly close to Araújo
Bayern's first interest in Uruguayan international Araújo was announced at the end of November. At this point, however, it seemed to stay that way. The player is not interested in the German record champions, according to the rumour mill.
Shortly before the Bayern game at Eintracht Frankfurt, however, there were new reports. Florian Plettenberg, Sky reporter and transfer expert, tweeted that there had been a phone call between the player and Tuchel as well as FCB sporting director Christoph Freund on Friday (8 December).
Apparently, the Bavarians are willing to put a lot of money on the table. Tuchel is said to have made it clear to the centre-back that he absolutely wants him in the team - no matter what it costs, whether in the summer or already in the winter.

Will Barcelona turn Bayern down because of Araújo?
Before the game against Eintracht, Tuchel didn't get involved in anything. He blocked a question about the rumored phone call: "I will not comment on that in any direction. I also spoke to my mother on the phone, but there was no message."
At the moment, there seems to be so little to speak for a transfer of Araújo to Säbener Straße. On the contrary, because FC Barcelona is currently preparing a new working paper for the Uruguayan, who is already bound until 2026. In addition, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Araújo is said to be very happy in the Catalan capital.
It is quite possible that the Bavarians will be rebuffed again in their efforts to find a new defensive star. (sh)
