Only at the end of the week did South Africa's claim against the State of Israel come to an end at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, where their request to call for a cessation of hostilities in Gaza was rejected.
But it seems that despite the result, the authorities in South Africa do not stop expressing their support for the Palestinians.
Jordin Hill-Lewis, the mayor of Cape Town, the capital of South Africa, announced yesterday (Sunday) that his city will host a pair of exhibition matches with the participation of the Palestinian national team.
The Palestinians' opponent in the games to be held on February 11 and 18 will be a local star team.
In addition to hosting, the municipality will waive rent payments for the games, and will allocate another 400,000 rupees for the production of the games.
"Sports played an important role in our democratic journey, and I am proud that the Municipality of Cape Town is cooperating with the Palestinian Federation to host their soccer team, I call on everyone to come to the games and show our support in peace and justice," said the mayor.
