The owner of Maccabi Netanya - Eyal Segal - is known as a person who does not hide his opinions for the most part and is not afraid to express his displeasure about things that happen in Israeli football.
This evening (Monday) Segal issued an official letter to the team's fans and appealed to them to refrain from chanting against the Arab sector in general and Hapoel Tel Aviv's interim coach Salim Toama in particular.
"Dear fans, 116 days have passed since the greatest disaster Zionism has ever experienced... Sports in general and football in particular, are the most worthy platform to unite, bring together and remove divisions - between sectors, religions and nationalities," he wrote.
"In the last few games and regardless of what happened on the field, words and phrases that go beyond the language of the law and above all the desire of all of us to unite the ranks were introduced into the repertoire of the songs in the stadium."

Segal also wrote: "Salim Tuama, one of the greatest footballers who grew up in Israel, he and his family are a symbol of coexistence in the country... and there is no reason why a song that was previously heard in other stadiums should be heard at the club's games. I pray that we will not need to take action against those who harm the club's image, but if not There will be a choice, we will take steps, as we have done in other issues."
