Skier Aleksander Aarmodt Kilde posted photos of his open wound on Instagram.
The Norwegian also gives insights into his rehabilitation.
Innsbruck – About two weeks ago, ski ace Aleksander Aamodt Kilde was seriously injured in a fall in Switzerland.
The Norwegian has now reported back from his rehabilitation in Innsbruck and provides insights into his injuries and the days after the accident.
Shocking pictures of Kilde's lower leg
The skier posted pictures of his injury on Instagram.
During the fall, the 31-year-old cut his calf with his own skis.
The winter athlete posted, among other things, a photo of his open wound and a video in which a doctor describes the procedure to the Norwegian with pictures of the operation.
The image and video are so drastic that the social media platform has already marked these posts as “sensitive content” to protect users.
His accident at the race in Wengen was not for the faint of heart, as the ski ace already lost a lot of blood on the course.
Kilde then had to be flown to a hospital in Bern, where he underwent surgery.

Doctors expect Kilde to make a full recovery
Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is not expected to suffer any lasting damage as no nerve endings appear to have been severed in the accident.
However, he can't move his toes at the moment.
The ski star wrote: “This is a difficult situation for me, to put it mildly.”
In addition, Kilde fainted once in the days after his fall because of the strong painkillers.
After his shoulder operation, the Norwegian also suffered a panic attack.
Kilde will have to sit in a wheelchair for at least seven weeks.
Recently there have been a number of accidents in the World Cup.
Kilde's friend Mikaela Shiffrin, among others, fell and had to be transported away by helicopter.
At the weekend it hit Valerie Grenier.
