In the "Daily Mail" it was reported today (Tuesday) that the English league decided to start the move after successful trials in soccer matches in Mexico and Portugal, and this may receive final approval this March.
The head of the Premier League referees, Howard Webb, was a strong supporter of transparency to the crowd and is considered one of the people who promoted the move.
Senior referees, including Anthony Taylor, first used the system 12 months ago at the Club World Cup in Morocco before the idea was also tried at the Mondialeto and then the Women's World Cup in Australia.
The Premier League is expected to introduce a system similar to the one used at last year's Women's World Cup, where referees announced the decisions with a microphone and explained their decisions to the crowd after watching a series of replays on a pitch-side monitor.
🚨 Referees WILL be allowed to explain VAR decisions to supporters inside the ground in the Premier League next season after they got the green light by IFAB to introduce the measure.
