After a day of waiting at the beach, the World Windsurfing Championship opened today (Tuesday) in Spain.
In the women's team, three Israelis are among the top ten in the competition, with the young competitor, Tamar Steinberg, in fifth place, Katie Spichkov seventh and Shahar Tibi ninth.
They are immediately followed by Sharon Kantor in 11th place and Maya Morris in 12th place.
Locking the Israeli Daniela Peleg in 16th place.
For the men, there were four cruises, with Tom Reuvani summing up a very stable day, where he finished three cruises in second place and another cruise in fifth place.
The good results place Reuveni at the end of the day in eighth place overall, with nine points to his credit.
The next Israeli on the list is Yoav Omar, in 27th place. Omar started the day with a weak cruise, where he finished tenth, but in the following cruises he showed his true ability and finished 4, 4, 6.
At the bottom of the list are Tomer Vardimon, in 50th place and Yoav Cohen, in 60th place.

The competition is convincingly led by Britain's Emma Wilson and Holland's Luke van Opzeeland, both of whom won four races today.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) the organizers hope to hold five cruises, after which the fleet will be divided into gold and silver houses, with only the gold house competitors continuing to fight for a place in the medal cruises.
