According to the New York Times, soccer star Leo Messi is set to earn about $14 million for appearing in a 60-second commercial in the upcoming Super Bowl game.
The Inter Miami star has received a contract from the Michalov Ultra beer company, which has already published a short teaser for a commercial in which he will star in the NFL's grand final.
This will be the first time that the flea appears in a commercial at the biggest sporting event in the world.
"Having the GOAT himself, Messi and the Super Bowl to kick everything off and start the year with a bang, that makes us excited," said Ricardo Marques, Ultra's vice president of marketing, in an interview with.
"Messi needs no introduction. The power he has, the impact he had upon his arrival in Miami, in the world of football and beyond, he is clearly a cultural icon right now."
Messi's partnership with the parent company of "Ultra" began in 2020. The advertisement in the Super Bowl is part of the capital's considerable investment in football.
"Ultra" is expected to cooperate with the Men's World Cup.
The tournament will reportedly be played in the US, Canada and Mexico in 2026, with Messi's Argentina aiming to defend the title.
