On December 14, 2000, the very young boy, Leo Messi, officially joined Barcelona's soccer academy and the rest is history.
This history is now up for sale, after the British auction house "Bonhams" announced that the napkin on which the 13-year-old Messi signed a little more than 23 years ago, is in his hands and will be offered at a high price.

The prestigious auction house will allow bids on "one of the most interesting items that came to us" between February 18 and 27.
According to the estimate, "Bonhams" expects to receive for the signed napkin an amount ranging from 300 thousand euros to 500 thousand euros.
However, some are confident that it will be possible to get even 600,000 euros for the rare item.
Horcio Gaioli, who represented Messi at the time, has kept the napkin in the safe since that day, and on it, next to Messi's signature, there are also the signatures of Barca's technical director at the time, Carlos Rexes, as well as the scout who discovered Messi, Josep Maria Mingla .
It seems that the big money behind the sale of the napkin overcame the sentimentality of the special item, which was originally intended to go to the club's museum.
