Embiid grew up in Cameroon, where basketball is not as popular as football.
The country's national team, led by the legendary Samuel Eto'o was the pride of the nation.
As such, the Philadelphia Sixers superstar is a big fan of the sport, so much so that he prefers playing it instead of basketball.

"I watch soccer because I love it, and I grew up watching it. I think I also love soccer because it's a dream I've never been able to fulfill. I want to feel what it's like, I want to be a part of it. I know a lot of these guys, soccer players. I I'd rather be a football player than a basketball player, that's how much I love football," he said during the Men in Blazers podcast.
