The Formula 1 world is shocked by Lewis Hamilton's apparent move from Mercedes to Ferrari.
According to the BBC, very soon the 7-time world champion will officially complete the transition, joining the rival company at the start of the 2025 season.
Meanwhile, the one who reacted to the move is Flavio Briatore, the legendary director of the former Renault company.
"I am very surprised by Hamilton's signing with Ferrari, he must have had his reasons. I am surprised because Mercedes did a lot for him," said the tycoon in an interview with the Italian "Lepres".
Immediately afterwards he added: "Do I agree with the choice? I don't know. First of all it is essential to build a good car, because you can have Batman as a driver, but if the car is not competitive - the driver cannot make the difference."
Ralf Schumacher, the brother of the legendary racing driver Michael, actually supported Hamilton and claimed: "I think he is the right choice for Lewis. There are many drivers who would like to drive a Ferrari before they finish their career and he is one of them," he explained.

At Ferrari, Hamilton is expected to team up with driver Charles Leclerc.
Carlos Sainz, the company's second driver ends his contract at the end of 2024, and may be the one to lose his place in the company.
Before his current contract was signed, Hamilton told ESPN in May 2023 that he would be "lying" if he said he "never thought about finishing my career anywhere else. I was thinking and looking at the Ferrari drivers on the screens at the track and wondering what it would be like to be in red," he added.
