FC Bayern convinces: “Jonah Kusi-Asare is a young striker with enormous potential”
“Jonah Kusi-Asare is a young striker with enormous potential,” Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund speaks highly of Kusi-Asare.
“He had a few offers, but he consciously chose FC Bayern because we were able to convince him how we wanted to build and develop him with us.” Bryan Zaragoza has now also arrived in Munich.
The transfer that was actually planned for the summer has been brought forward due to Kingsley Coman's serious injury.
The fact that Freund from the professionals has his say in the official transfer announcement says a lot about what Bayern are hoping for from Kusi-Asare in the future.
For a few weeks, the poker around the talented striker was in full swing.
At the beginning of January, FCB submitted an opening offer to Kusi-Asare's club AIK Solna worth five million euros.
FC Bayern beat out other top clubs for Jonah Kusi-Asare
Solna initially blocked it, Bayern had to readjust and finally found an agreement that was said to be around 5.3 million euros.
“Jonah made his debut for Solna in Sweden's first division when he was just 16 years old and is already very advanced for his age.
We believe in his potential and are pleased that he will take the next steps in his development together with us,” said Jochen Sauer, Bayern’s director of youth development.
Two English heavyweights, Chelsea and Manchester United, were beaten in the poker for Kusi-Asare.
In addition, PSV Eindhoven is said to have signaled concrete interest.
At almost two meters tall, Kusi-Asare is tall and the Swedish junior national player has made four short appearances in the Allsvenskan this season.

This is what Bayern transfer Jonah Kusi-Asare brings with him
Kusi-Asare should initially gain match practice in the U19, but has almost unbelievable potential.
And the example of Mathys Tel shows that sometimes it can happen quickly to get a place with the professionals. But what does Kusi-Asare actually bring to the table?
After all, not everyone will regularly follow Swedish professional or junior football.
Kusi-Asare is a typical target player who doesn't just let the ball bounce, but also likes to look for the goal himself.
Thanks to his speed, he tries to regularly penetrate the opponent's penalty area.
Kusi-Asare also often moves deeper into midfield and pulls the defenders with him to create space for his teammates.
Bayern newcomer: Jonah Kusi-Asare still needs to improve here
The youngster is strong on both feet, extremely agile despite his height and has good technique with both feet, meaning he can easily be integrated into the interaction with his teammates.
The only drawback is his lanky build.
Kusi-Asare still needs to gain a lot of muscle mass and physique, but this is not uncommon at such a young age.
