The fourth day of the World Windsurfing Championship, in the IQFoil model, today (Thursday) was a turning point, but still with four Israeli women and one Israeli in the top ten.
For the women, Kati Spichkov had a relatively stable sailing day and moved up two places in the overall ranking, up to third place.
Spichkov started the day with two cruises in third place, but then weakened a bit and finished 20,11,11.
The situation was even more difficult for Shahar Tzuberi's team, with the top three finishing a weak day and being pushed back.
Sharon Kantor, who started the day in second place overall, performed five very uncharacteristic cruises, in which she finished 15, 19, 16, 27 and 30 and dropped to seventh place overall.
She is followed in eighth place by Shahar Tibi, who although finished two cruises in second place, but three cruises in places 18, 32 and 35.
Tamar Steinberg closes the top ten, with cruises in places 14,25,19,14,38.

Those who actually enjoyed a relatively good day were Daniela Peleg and Maya Morris, who managed to climb to the 15th and 16th places and will try tomorrow to continue the trend of improvement and close a gap of about 20 points, in order to succeed and enter the medal races.
In the men's category, Tom Reuveni cements his place in the top ten in the championship, as he starts the day with a weak cruise, in 28th place, but then recovers quickly and finishes in 5th, 10th, 13th and 10th places.
Today's results raise Reuveni one place, to the sixth place overall, when the top is very crowded and there are only two points between him and the third place.
The third place guarantees a direct promotion to the semi-finals, so that tomorrow Reuveni will continue to fight for the direct ticket to the semi-finals.

The current world championship will be the one after which the internal race for the ticket to the Olympic Games in Paris will be decided in the sailing association and at this stage both for the women and for the men everything is still open.
