Is the limit on the number of fans in sports on the way to an end?

Following the change in the Home Front Command's assessment of the situation and the lowering of the defense policy from status 3 to status 2, it is possible that soon the restrictions on the admission of an audience to sports events in Israel will be completely lifted.

As we know, since the beginning of the Iron Swords War, the introduction of an audience in an orderly fashion to sports events has been limited.

Only at the end of December, after assessing the situation, up to 15,000 spectators were allowed to enter the Premier League football and basketball games.

If indeed the restriction is lifted in full, this coming Monday a season match between Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv will be held at the Sami Ofer Stadium - and we may see the stadium full for the first time since the outbreak of the war on October 7.

The football association will wait for detailed instructions on the matter from the Home Front Command and the authorities.

As we know, the change is not relevant to the basketball industry, because the two largest halls in the country, Hafis Hall in Jerusalem and Menorah Mitvathim Hall in Tel Aviv, can accommodate up to 11 thousand spectators.
