The Japanese junior international Taichi Fukui has extended his contract at Säbener Straße and is still on loan to Portugal.

Munich – Fourth departure for little Bavaria in the winter.

Shortly before the end of the transfer period, Taichi Fukui extended his contract at Säbener Straße until 2026 and will be loaned to Portugal.

The midfielder will join first division club Portimonense SC until the summer.

“As a club, Portimonense is known for its ability to integrate Japanese players into European football.”

Jochen Sauer, head of the FC Bayern Campus, about Taichi Fukui.

The Japanese has been a constant at FC Bayern II this season and has played 15 of 18 games in the Bavarian Regional League.

At the end of September, the 19-year-old made his first team appearance under Thomas Tuchel in the first round of the DFB Cup.

“Taichi joined our amateurs last winter and has developed very well since then.

He was even able to celebrate his professional debut in September,” Jochen Sauer, director of youth development at FC Bayern, is quoted as saying.

The junior international should continue to mature in Portugal and, in Sauer's opinion, he is at the right club: “As a club, Portimonense is known for its excellent ability to integrate Japanese players into European football.

We are therefore convinced that Taichi will find very good conditions there to take the next step in a professional league.”

Holger Seitz loses next top performer at FC Bayern II

After keeper Lukas Schneller and goalscorer Lucas Copado, Fukui is the third regular player who will no longer be available to Holger Seitz in the remaining 16 games.

Leon Fust (five appearances) has also left the club and will now defend at SKU Amstetten in the Austrian 2nd league.

Before the start of the second half of the season, the record champions' reserves are in eighth place in the regional league table and are seven points ahead of the first relegation place to the Bayernliga.
