Sean Weissman found a new team, just before the closing of the European transfer window.
In Italy it was claimed this evening (Thursday) that Granada accepted Spezia's offer and that everything was agreed upon between the clubs, but the Israeli striker rejected the offer and then went on to hold talks with Salarnitana, who are leading the Serie A table and are coached by the legendary Filippo Inzaghi.
Before 21:00 (Israel time) it was reported in Italy that Weisman had signed and there was an attempt to confirm his contract before the end of the transfer deadline in the country, and then it turned out that the deal was approved seconds before the window closed.
Thus, the 27-year-old Weissman will be the fifth Israeli in the history of the top Italian league.
He was preceded by Tal Benin (Brescia), Eran Zahavi (Palermo), Dor Peretz (Venice) and Sof Podgorano (Spezia).
Salernitana was coached at the beginning of the season by Paulo Souza, the former coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The Portuguese kept the team in the league with a streak of 10 games without a loss last season, but on October 10 he was fired following a terrible start to the season and replaced by Mona Inzaghi, who recorded only two wins and is on a streak of four league losses (and another 6:1 defeat in the cup against Juventus) and in the distance Six points from a safe beach.
The leading striker is the Senegalese Boulay Dia (four goals this season), but he is injured and the substitutes are unable to fill his place.
Veteran Antonio Canderaba is the leading scorer with five goals, although the main problem is in the defense which is considered the worst in the league (44 concedings).
Will play for Pipo Inzaghi.

Today, Granada said goodbye to its star Brian Zaragoza, who was sold to Bayern Munich, and at the same time as trying to get stronger, one of its goals was also to find a team for Sean Weissman, who in recent weeks has not even dressed for games.
In total, this season the Israeli striker played 167 minutes in all formats.
While the connection with Granada did not work from the first moment, in Valladolid he was very loved by the fans thanks to the 20 goals he scored in the promotion season in 2021/22, a year after he was acquired from Wolfsberger and became the most expensive player in the club's history as of those days.
In January 2023, after only one goal in the top league in the first half of the season, he was loaned out and eventually left permanently in accordance with the clause in the agreement between the clubs.
The comeback will wait and at least for the next half of the season he will play in Italy.
