The Mainz team made the headlines on the morning of Deadline Day.
After the permanent signing of Nadiem Amiri from Leverkusen, the next player, Jessic Ngankam, is coming to Mainz.
The 23-year-old is moving from Eintracht Frankfurt to FSV on loan - there should be no purchase option in the deal.
Mainz are currently in the middle of a relegation battle and are in second-to-last place in the table with just eleven points.
Transfer ticker on deadline day: Mainz brings Amiri from Leverkusen
Update from February 1st, 7:14 a.m.:
Bundesliga club Mainz 05 has signed Nadiem Amiri from leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the relegation battle.
The Rhinelanders announced this late on Wednesday evening.
The attacking midfielder brings the enormous experience of 225 Bundesliga games to Bruchweg, but was sidelined at Bayer in the current season and only appeared in 81 minutes in the Bundesliga.
The five-time German national player signed a contract with Mainz until the end of June 2026. Both parties agreed not to disclose the transfer terms, but according to media reports the transfer fee is around 1.5 million euros.

Wolfsburg brings in national striker: Behrens comes from league rivals
Update from January 31st, 8:55 p.m
.: As expected, VfL Wolfsburg has signed Kevin Behrens from league rivals Union Berlin.
The Wolves announced this on Wednesday evening.
The club did not specify a contract term; according to media reports, Behren's contract will run until summer 2026.
The transfer fee should be 3.5 million euros.
“Kevin comes from current game operations, he knows the league and will therefore only need a short period of getting used to it,” VfL sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz is quoted in the statement: “He has proven his qualities on the pitch again and again in recent years placed."
Transfer ticker on deadline day: Dahoud before Bundesliga return
Update from January 31st, 6:43 p.m.:
Mahmoud Dahoud is apparently returning to the Bundesliga.
VfB Stuttgart apparently wants to sign the two-time national player on loan with a subsequent purchase option from Brighton & Hove Albion.

showed Dahoud arriving at Stuttgart Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

Before his time with the English first division club, the 28-year-old midfielder had already played in 226 games for Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga.
Dahoud appeared in 14 competitive games for Brighton this season.
The medical check in Stuttgart is still pending.

Transfer ticker on deadline day: Behrens shortly before moving to VfL Wolfsburg
VfL Wolfsburg apparently secures the services of striker Kevin Behrens.
According to information from
Sky
, the 32-year-old will move from Union Berlin to Autostadt and complete the medical check with the Wolves on Wednesday.
A low single-digit million sum is being discussed as a transfer fee.
The contract should be valid until 2026.
After a strong start to the season for the Köpenickers with four goals in the first two league games, Behrens even made his debut for the German national team in October against Mexico.
Since then, however, there have been no further goals.
At VfL, Behrens is intended as an alternative for top striker Jonas Wind.
