Chima Monka had a great game yesterday (Thursday) in the 82:92 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv, he scored 15 points with a good percentage, he broke his season record in rebounds when he picked up 15 of these, he also added 2 assists and played in 36 minutes of defensive and offensive dominance.
But one thing seems to have clouded Chima's joy, the judgment.
In a post he uploaded to X (formerly Twitter) a few minutes after the end of the game he wrote: "Also, something needs to be done with these referees, please."
By the way, he finished the game with one foul that was whistled for his duty, and three fouls that he extorted from the Maccabi Tel Aviv players.
But Monka is apparently not alone in his criticism of the refereeing in the EuroLeague, beyond Wade Baldwin who almost physically attacked the referees at the end of yesterday's game, there are two other EuroLeague stars who have criticized the people with the whistles in recent times.
One of them is Mike James, who wrote on Twitter after Monaco's loss to Panathinaikos: "Euroleague, I'm tired of the disrespect. I've been in this league for a decade, and suddenly I don't get whistled. I get a technical in every game because you guys are screwed. I'm working on my game in the summer , work on yours."
This tweet was deleted by the way a few minutes later.
